TAG Heuer refreshes Carrera Three Hands, welcomes Ryan Gosling as new face of the brand

TAG Heuer is updating one of its timeless sporty and elegant three-hand timepieces, the TAG Heuer Carrera Three Hands. The update is a modern reinterpretation that’s bolder and more contemporary. The launch coincides with the announcement of Ryan Gosling as the new face of the brand.

Throughout his career, Gosling has proven himself to be one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood. From his brooding wheelman in Drive to his all singing, all-dancing Oscar-nominated turn in La La Land, he is an actor who defies easy categorization.

Passion, effortless style, and commitment to excellence are as central to Gosling as they are to the brand, which makes him the perfect ambassador of the luxury Swiss watch brand. Moreover, Gosling represents a new breed of masculinity that’s both sensitive and low-key, a confidence that is by definition effortless, much like the brand itself.

The new Carrera Three Hands collection is composed of 13 watches split into four sub-collections: Carrera Day Date 41 mm, Carrera Twin-Time Date 41 mm, Carrera Date 39 mm, and Carrera Date 29 mm.

The watches maintain a sportiness thanks to their steel cases and new, bolder aesthetic, but are also more refined than the Carrera chronographs because the dials are less busy due to the absence of subdials.

“I appreciate its timeless design. I like clean and simple design generally,” Gosling said in a statement. “Growing up, we lived on a pretty tight budget. I gravitated towards things that were simple and timeless so I didn’t have to think about keeping up with trends.”
