With almost 100% nationwide coverage and around 7,000 estimated riders and drivers, Ninja Van has undoubtedly become one of the top courier and logistics services in the country.
Last year alone, Ninja Van Philippines has seen a 150% growth in parcel volumes while empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) striving through the pandemic.
As the company celebrates its fifth anniversary this September, its key management personnel shared how they managed to expand the business from the ground up during Ninja Van’s “5 Years and Beyond” virtual event held on Wednesday, September 29.
Martin Cu, Country Head of Ninja Van Philippines, recalled the beginnings of their journey that started out in a small condominium unit in Taguig way back 2016.
By 2018, Ninja Van Philippines has reached 1 million total deliveries that also prompted the launch of Ninja Direct, their dropshipping service, the following year.
Despite being a newcomer in the industry at that time, Ninja Van Philippines managed to stand out by constantly finding ways to increase its delivery speed and develop more value-added services, said Chief Operating Officer Vin Perez.
Apart from Ninja Direct, the company has launched services such as COD Advance and Ninja Point while shifting to e-commerce to make transactions easier for clients, especially MSME owners.
“We invest heavily in providing them services and tools such as COD Advance and Ninja Direct, and our Ninja Blog and Ninja Masterclass to make the e-commerce process easier for them,” Chief Commercial Officer Sabina Lopez-Vergara said, noting that they also launched a community learning program called Ninja Masterclass and online bazaars to help online sellers.
Now, the company is carrying out its operations in over 300 hubs, stores, and warehouses nationwide.
Moving forward, Ninja Van Philippines is focused on achieving 100% coverage nationwide and rolling out more value-added services for MSMEs.
With the US$578 million worth of funds that the company has secured in a Series E funding round, Ninja Van Philippines is looking to develop its infrastructure and technology systems, as well as its suite of micro-supply chain solutions for Filipino businesses in the years to come.
