Harley-Davidson to start selling vintage-inspired e-bikes by end of 2021

American superbike manufacturer Harley-Davidson has announced it will start selling limited-edition S1 MOSH/TRIBUTE electronic bicycles by the end of 2021.

The stunning vintage-inspired model was unveiled during the Southern California Electrify Expo on Sunday, Sept. 19, by Harley-Davidson’s new e-bike spinoff, Serial 1.

According to Serial 1’s Brand Director Aaron Frank, the brand was formed after Harley-Davidson launched its first e-bike prototype—drawn from a vintage motorcycle—in October 2020.

“We are thrilled now to offer a limited edition that so faithfully captures the iconic look and feel of that first prototype and to use this moment as a springboard to launch our S1 Series that will see even more exclusive and highly desirable Serial 1 eBike models in the future,” Frank said.

As Electrek notes, the upcoming S1 MOSH/TRIBUTE bikes are built with the similar frame used for Series 1’s actual production series, but with a number of unique touches inspired by Harley-Davidson’s first motorcycle from over a century ago.

It is designed with stunning aesthetics—from the leather saddle and grips, brass accents, glossy paint, white tires to its brown drive belt—that pay homage to the original vintage prototype.

The bike also has the same components as Series 1’s MOSH/CTY model, including the Brose mid-drive motor, Gates carbon belt drive, TRP hydraulic disc brakes with internally routed hoses to match the internal electrical wires, and the bike’s signature integrated lighting.

In addition, the front shield and rear dropouts are boosted with frame-integrated lighting, and the handlebars have extra bright headlights mounted on them.

The S1 MOSH/TRIBUTE electric bicycles will roll out in a limited edition of 650 units in the US and Europe, with a starting price of $5,999 or approximately P300,660.
