K-dramas and films have no doubt bailed many people out of their pandemic blues. And if you’re looking to keep yourself entertained while social distancing for the rest of the year, better bookmark this page.
China-based video streaming app iQiyi has recently announced all the K-dramas and films it is releasing for its Hallyu Season. The program, which started this month of September, consists of shows headlined by big Korean stars, such as Lee Dong-wook for Bad and Crazy, U-KISS’ Lee Jun-young for Let Me Be Your Night, and 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon for Royal Secret Inspector Joy.

Premiering on October
Jirisan
Jirisan is an original iQiyi K-series that follows the story of an experienced national park ranger (played by Gianna Jun) and a rookie ranger (played by Ju Ji-hoon) as they uncover secrets and rescue lost trekkers in the mysterious Mount Jiri. Directed by Lee Eung-bok (Descendants of The Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God) and writen by Kim Eun-hee (Signal, Kingdom), the action-thriller also features stars Sung Dong-il, Oh Jung-se, and Go Min-si. It will premiere on iQiyi on October 23.

IDOL: The Coup
In IDOL: The Coup, Kwak Si-yang plays the owner of an entertainment company, whose first female idol group has not gained traction after six years. The band, which includes Kim Je-na (played by Hani of girl group EXID), is now facing termination and must find success to overcome the crisis.

Let Me Be Your Night
Let Me Be Your Night follows the lead singer of a popular idol band (played Lee Jun-young of U-KISS) trying to overcome his sleepwalking condition with the help of a physician (portrayed by Jung In-sun). Joining Jun-young in the cast are fellow idols Kim Jong-hyun of NU’EST, Yoon Ji-sung of Wanna One, and Kim Dong-hyun from AB6IX.
Royal Secret Inspector Joy
K-pop idol and Vincenzo star Ok Taecyeon takes part in a period drama for the first time, with Royal Secret Inspector Joy. Set in the Joseon dynasty, a young and rich gourmet (Taec-yeon) becomes a secret royal inspector and teams up with an unhappy wife seeking divorce (played by Kim Hye-yoon) to solve cases.

Melancholia
Melancholia tells the story of a math teacher (played by Lim Soo-jung) and a math genius student (played by Lee Do-hyeon) who will break down tradition and bias with their beautiful but forbidden romance.

Bad and Crazy
After portraying the roles of an afterlife messenger, serial killer, and nine-tailed fox, Lee Dong-wook is out to impress fans yet again as a corrupt police detective Soo Yeol in Bad and Crazy. The superhero drama chronicles how Soo Yeol changes into a champion for justice after meeting a crazy but good guy named “K” (Wi Ha-jun). Directed by Yoo Seon Dong (The Uncanny Encounter), Bad and Crazy is scheduled to debut on iQiyi this December.

The Man’s Voice
A part-time convenience store worker (played by Song Ji-eun) suddenly acquired the unusual skill of communicating with cats after a lightning strike. When an attractive first officer (played by Choi Tae-joon) asks her to take care of his cat, a romance full of fantasy blossoms.
