Six years may have passed since Nokia launched its first tablet, but the Finnish smartphone company is still out to prove that late is better than never. Nokia has recently announced that it is launching its second-ever tablet next month.
The announcement came as a tweet on the brand’s official Twitter account on Monday, September 27. It includes a photo of the device, which can be seen as having a thin body that’s two times taller than the Nokia 3310. Nokia also wrote that the device is slated for launch on October 6.
While the brand is yet to spill the deets of its new slab, reports say that it will be dubbed Nokia T20 and sport a 10.36-inch IPS LCD screen with a Full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution and a pixel density of 213ppi.
According to NewsBytes, the tablet is expected to have a dual rear camera setup that houses a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens, as well as an 8MP front snapper. The Nokia T20 is likely to run on Android 11 powered by a UNISOC chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64G of internal storage, plus 5,000mAh battery.
Its launch comes five years after Nokia announced its first tablet, the Nokia N1, in November 2014, and six years after the device was released in China in January 2015.
The Nokia N1 features an 8″ aluminum body and ran Android Lollipop with the help of an Intel-Atom processor. Android Police also noted that it was one of the first devices to have the USB-C Type-C port.
