With Windows 11 arriving this holiday season, it seems only fitting that users of the OS are now hyped to get their hands on the more polished, feature-packed multitasker. But the thing is, not all Windows 10 users are qualified to get the free upgrade.
To ease the confusion, Microsoft has included a feature in the most recent Windows 10 releases that notifies users when Windows 11 is available and ready to be installed.
Previously, Windows users would have to check their eligibility for Windows 11 by installing and opening a special application called “PC Health Check,” a process described by Notebookcheck as a rather tedious process.
According to a report by Windows Latest, the result of the Windows 11 compatibility check will soon be displayed directly in the regular Windows Update app. The notification is emphasized with a green checkmark and should be easy to spot.

The notification says, “Great news – your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. Specific timing for when it will be offered can vary as we get it ready for you.”
It also states that some Windows 10 capabilities may not be available in Windows 11 and that some apps and functions may have additional prerequisites in order to function.
Apart from these improvements, Windows Latest added that Microsoft has also released a new version of its “PC Health Check” that you can download here. The updates come just in time for the expected launch of Windows 11 on October 20 this year.
