All-new Subaru Outback launched, priced at P2.38M

About a month after reservation books were opened, Motor Image Pilipinas has officially started sales of the all-new 2021 Subaru Outback.

The award-winning crossover has been restyled inside and out and is now built on the Subaru Global Platform. Powering the sixth-generation Outback is an all-new 2.5-liter direct injection boxer engine capable of 185hp and 245Nm.

It comes with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the brand’s signature EyeSight technology.

The new EyeSight 4.0 includes an improved pre-collision braking function, autonomous emergency steering to help avoid accidents, a lane-centering function on the adaptive cruise control feature, and a lane-departure prevention function on the lane-departure warning feature.

There’s also a new Driver Monitoring System (DMS) that uses an infrared camera and facial recognition technology to monitor the driver’s eyes and alerts the driver should he or she be looking away from the road when driving. It also remembers the unique settings of up to five drivers for their seat and door mirror positions, climate control, and meter displays, and automatically adjusts them for each driver upon entering the car.

Other safety features include eight airbags, steering-responsive headlights, adaptive driving beam, and blind-spot detection.

Inside, the Outback is fitted with new Nappa leather seats, a new 11.6-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 576-watt Harman/Kardon premium audio system with 11 speakers, a subwoofer, and an 8-channel amplifier.

The Outback 2.5i-T EyeSight retails for P2,380,000 and is available in seven colors: Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Brilliant Bronze Metallic, Crimson Red Pearl, Dark Blue Pearl, and Storm Grey Metallic.

Those who reserve a unit by September 30 are entitled to an exclusive P50,000 introductory discount. The first batch of Outback owners shall also receive a limited-edition Bynd Artisan leather pouch.
