Looks like it’s still Agatha all along, WandaVision fans. Marvel and Disney are reportedly developing a spinoff of the hit series where its wicked and witty villain, Agatha Harkness, will take center stage.
While the exact plot remains unknown to the public, sources told Variety that Kathryn Hahn is reprising the role of Agatha in the dark comedy.
Joining Hahn as the show’s writer and executive producer is Jac Schaeffer, who also served as the showrunner of Wandavision and screenwriter of Black Widow.
Agatha first enchanted fans when she posed as Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s nosy but reliable neighbor in Westview. It wasn’t until episode 7 that she revealed she is actually Agatha, a powerful ancient witch who joined Wanda’s made-up village in an attempt to steal her massive powers.
The character’s big reveal came with a catchy theme song, titled “Agatha All Along,” which Marvel dropped on Spotify shortly after the episode was released on Disney+ in February. According to a report by CNET, “Agatha All Along” was featured at the top of WandaVision’s official playlist along with the other tunes written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
Meanwhile, the beloved character was kept alive at the end of the series, with Wanda turning her back into Agnes and keeping her locked in Westview forever.
In related news, Elizabeth Olsen confirms WandaVision is not getting a season 2.
