In case you missed it, Razer has finally launched its high-tech RGB mask, called Zephyr, during its RazerCon event on October 21, 2021.
Formerly dubbed “Project Hazel,” the Razer Zephyr sports many of the features the company announced when it first presented the concept back at the CES 2021. First off is its straight-out-a-video-game design that showcases Razer’s signature Chroma RGB lighting, which comprises more than 15 million lighting choices.
These Chroma RGB LEDs are attached to the Zephyr’s two huge air chambers that each have a two-speed dual intake fan built in them. According to Razer’s website, the fans allow freshly filtered air to flow freely inside the mask so you can breathe comfortably.
It comes with two high-speed modes (4200/6200 RPM), which you can toggle using the mask’s multifunction button when you want to adjust the air circulation, especially when doing intense activities.

As mentioned by Razer’s Design Director Charlie Bolton in a promotional video last January, the Zephyr is “classified as a surgical N95 respirator, which provides higher fluid resistance and prevents droplets splashes.”
It is FDA-registered and lab-tested for 99% BFE, proving that it offers greater protection compared to standard disposable/cloth masks.
On the flip side, Razer wasn’t able to follow through with its original plan to include a voice amplification technology to prevent you from sounding muffled while wearing the mask.
Razer managed to push through, though, with the mask’s transparent faceplate equipped with anti-fogging tech and interior lighting so that others can still see your lips when you talk — and maybe do some lip-reading instead.
Razer also made the Zephyr comfortable to wear with its two adjustable straps (worn around the head) and a soft silicone face seal for a snuggly fit.
The Razer Zephyr is retailing at £99.99 (~P6,990) on Razer’s website and has already sold out as of writing. The company assures interested buyers that stocks are “coming back soon.”
