Instagram to finally let you post from your desktop

Instagram is finally rolling out an oft-requested feature: it will now allow users to post photos and videos through a browser rather than relying on the phone app.

A few months ago, Instagram began testing the ability to post from its desktop app but it was limited to selected users. The long-requested feature will become available to global audiences by October 21.

The company also announced a number of new features launching this week, which includes a new Collabs feature that will allow users to jointly share ownership of a feed post or Reel.

Instagram will also begin testing a way to create fundraisers for nonprofits. This will allow you to start a fundraiser directly from the “+” button.

There’s also a pair of new music-focused features coming to Reels: Superbeat, which adds effects to a video based on the beat of a song, and 3D lyrics, which displays song lyrics in tune with the melody.
