HBO has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Game of Thrones’ much-anticipated prequel, House of the Dragon.
Released last night, October 5, the one-minute clip gives a heart-pounding glimpse of the members of House Targaryen, the highlight of the new show. This includes King Viserys I Targaryen (played by Paddy Considine), Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), Lady Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), and Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith).
The show is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and chronicles how the family of dragonlords survived the Doom of Valyria and for generations, fought hard to hold the Iron Throne.
House of the Dragons is co-created by the saga’s writer, George R.R. Martin, along with Ryan Condal and director Miguel Sapochnik. The ten-episode series is due to premiere in 2022 on HBO Max.
